“Two people knew each other in college, never dated but remained friends after college.  They are out doing their everyday routine (getting grocery, pick up the newspaper, walking down the street, getting coffee, crossing the street) and somehow always run into each other.  Then one day, Kiely decided that the 2 of us should get together for lunch/dinner.  Then we hit it off.  That was how we met and ran into each other back in college (in Santa Barbara).  Perhaps the tiny spark was always there but our timing didn’t fully blossom until 3 years after we graduated.  We met up for lunch (it turned into a 4-hour lunch) and have been inseparable ever since. ”

It totally sounds like a plot right out of a romantic comedy movie!  We decided to make the concept even more dramatic by changing the session to have Sarah + Kiely not know each other and always end up around each other.  There are a bunch of potential first meetings that turn out to be “just misses”.   We were more than happy to put together a concept for the engagement session and has so more fun walking around the Marina with Sarah + Kiely  photographing the different scenes. They even surprised us with a present at the end. Upon opening it, we saw it was one of our most favorite baked goodies- SCONES.  (How did they know? )^.^ They even thought of including some organic tea to go along with our treats… Everyone knows scones are that much yummier with a nice cup of tea. We were totally taken by surprised and touched by how the extent of their thoughtfulness. Thanks so much Sarah + Kiely! We are so excited for your upcoming wedding!!

Having an engagement session at a carnival has been on our “need-to-do-list” for so long… We are so happy that one of our couples, Carissa + Johnni are as smitten with carnival photos as we are! Carnival rides, yummy cotton candy, and the festive atmosphere in the air makes it such a great place to go on a fun and romantic date with your most favorite person, right?? During this session, we really wanted to emphasize the colorful, fun nature of the carnival and the carefree personalities of Carissa + Johnni. They have the cutest story- they met in the 4th grade, Johnni asked Carissa out in the 6th grade to no avail, but obviously we all know this story has a happy ending. Two years ago he tried again, she was so excited and agreed to go out with him and the rest, as people say, is history! The cute thing about these two is that they really enjoy being around each other… It is incredibly obvious by the way they look at each other.  We are so happy that when we finally had our carnival engagement session and that it turned out even better then we could have imagined- the Santa Cruz Boardwalk was the  perfect  location and our couple was even more amazing. Thank you so much Carissa + Johnni for being super great sports and up for anything!
Love the image on the right of Johnni…. It is so him. He is totally hilarious and had Carissa and us laughing the whole time. Such a fun couple! ^.^
