Fall Leaves Engagement Session at Pittock Mansion

Pittock Mansion on any given day is beautiful, but it really is special during the autumn. The French Renaissance-style chateau is just breathtaking with the shades of oranges, reds and yellows from the trees in the beautifully curated grounds. We were lucky to photograph Pittock during the peak of the fall season. Brian and Ana are from Southern California on vacation in Portland. They asked for suggestions on locations for their engagement session. We knew Pittock Mansion was perfect for what they wanted. They were hoping to catch the fall leaves, something that is rare back home in California. The day of the session it was raining all day, but that didn’t detract us. The overcast skies, in fact, create a beautiful, even reflector. It also made it easier to shoot anywhere on the grounds since the light was evenly lit. We had a lot of fun with Brian and Ana and really appreciate how they were such troopers about the rain. It was definitely worth it because the images are to die for.  We are definitely looking forward to coming back to Pittock Mansion during the Spring. It should look stunning with all the blooming flowers!
